Soni & Co Translation Standards
We offer different levels of service according to your needs.
Our standard translation service operates on a cost per 1000 words of the source document. Prices vary according to the languages used. This would likely mean that a document to be translated from English to French would be cheaper than one requiring translation from English to Chinese, for example. Similarly, more technically demanding translation or a source document in a non-English language requiring translation to another non-English language would require the use of at least two translators and would incur additional cost.
Quality is achieved through the use of experienced translators (at least 3 years) who are Members of the Institute of Linguists or the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. Our translators are highly qualified, and many of them have Masters degrees from highly ranked universities along with substantial translation experience in the field of legal or financial translation.
If your document is not legal or financial in nature, we may still be able to source an appropriate translator. Please call our office to discuss any such requirements.
Proofreading is included in the service. If you require one, a "Certificate of Accuracy" can be added to your document, for an additional fee. This is usually added where a document is required to have legal effect, in England or outside the English jurisdiction.
Our translation consultancy service is available at our offices in Bayswater or City of London. Using this service, we can provide face to face access to our specialised translators to discuss specific requirements, such as typesetting, and to offer advice on aspects of localisation relevant for your document.
Other in-house legal personnel can also be made available should they be required. Please refer to our notarisation section.
Our proofreading service is for those who may have obtained a translation from another source but require a professional to double-check that there are no errors in the translation. Please note this is a full, line-by-line comparison of the source and translated document.
Here we are looking for errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar. We can also offer multi-lingual proofreading, involving more than two languages, where two experts can be used to check for semantic differences in the source and translated documents - making changes where necessary.
Please note that a "Certificate of Accuracy" can only be offered if a document is initially translated by us.
