Remote Notarisation Services

We have assisted many businesses in reducing their notarisation costs by introducing the Remote Notarisation Service and using courier and post where the document does not need to be signed in the presence of the notary. This speeds up the turnaround time dramatically.

Discounts for repeat documentation are then applied, which can substantially increase efficiency. Tailored forms for your particular business can be generated, and we can work out a system tailored to your specific needs. Email us, and let us quote you.

Legalisation Services

In order for most Corporate documents to be accepted in the relevant Foreign jurisdiction, some countries will insist that further formalities be undertaken after Notarising the document. You will find explanations of the processes of obtaining an Apostille or Consular Legalisation below. For country specific information, please click on the link which gives further details on the country’s particular requirements. Detailed specialist advice should be sought from us and this information is given without liability for reliance theron without formal advice being given.

Worldwide guide to Legalisation Services

Apostille

Some countries insist that the document is “Apostilled”. This is the process whereby the United Kingdom Foreign & Commonwealth Office verify the credentials of the Notary concerned. This involves presenting the document to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and paying a fee to them for placing an Apostille Certificate on the document.

We visit the Foreign Office to obtain this stamp two or three times daily, in order to provide a fast turnaround of this process.

Consular Legalisation

Other countries require the document to be “Consularised”. This is the process whereby the notarised document is prepared and presented to the correct Consulate for them to check and affix their “approval stamp” to the document, so that once the document reaches the International destination where it is to be used, the authorities there recognise the validity of the document in that country.

Requirements depend on the country of destination of the notarised document. Some Consulates require certified copies to be attached, others require all papers to be bound together in a certain way, and others have odd requirements such as the correct colour of ink or the way payment of their fee is made. If these requirements are not met, your document will be delayed.

Our Legalisation Department consists of Notarial Clerks experienced in the requirements of the various International Legal Jurisdictions, together with a large team of couriers and messengers who visit the Consulate departments nearly every week, and have over the years got to know the offices, their staff and their peculiarities.

In fact, every week, our Legalisation service is trusted by over two hundred other Notaries across the United Kingdom who send us their clients’ documents to handle the Legalisation for them for a speedier turnaround than sending the document directly to the Consulate concerned by post themselves.

For advice on the particular requirements of your document, you can refer to our Guide to Legalisation Table.

Translation of Corporate Legal Documents

Our Translation Department can provide legal translation services for Corporate Documents. We can translate documents such as Certificates of Incorporation, Memorandum and Articles of Association, or Certificates of Good Standing. These translations are carried out either in-house by us, or by using up to two Professional Translators who have been independently assessed for competency by professional translation associations.

For these purposes, we are currently the only Notaries who are Associate members of the Association of Translation Companies.
